With most laptops, a hard-drive swap is pretty easy - open the bottom hatch which covers the hard-drive, pull out old, insert new, close hatch - done in 10 min or less, and even the most unskilled person can accomplish this with minimum fuss within that time-frame. Hard drives are one of two things that are easy to replace in a laptop - memory being the other. Anything else involves a bit of technical know-how.

You will want a clean dust-free desk, and a small cup-like container to hold screws, and a small screwdriver.
And of course a replacement hard-drive, which can be acquired from any reputable computer shop, usually for very reasonable prices.

For those still worried, I have no doubt that a google search for "Dell <insert model # here> laptop hard drive swap" will come up with a bunch of text and video tutorials, which will tell you basically the same as above.

If one is still feeling anxious, the above computer shop can usually do the swap for you, often to include the backup. Industry standard is 1/2 hr labor time as a minimum, and that's all it should be, unless you go for the shop doing your backup as well.

Well a couple months ago I had already backed up some pictures and music but I don't have enough room on Google Drive for everything so I'm going to just add anything I think I will need and some important info I have stored on my pc. If a new hard drive doesn't help then I'll have to buy a new pc which my parents are going to save up for, but now that I just got glasses that might take longer... But thanks for the helpful things you all have said. I'll just keep backing up info and files and I might end up using my laptop till the hard drive stops working then I might get a new one or should I get a new one beforehand? Also when I tried defragging my PC i went afk and when i came back my pc had restarted without instructions to and it said it had had a bluescreen. Is it my hard drive causing it to bluescreen? And when my antivirus scans freeze the whole pc and i have to restart it manually, is that the hard drive doing that too? I must make sure there aren't other problems i don't know about.

I would not trust Google drive I've tested it and lost half or more of my items in the progress, Try a pen drive or something.

I would recommend Google drive, Dropbox, Mega or Box cloud storage.

Same, although the only problem with Dropbox and stuff like that is you end up having to pay for more storage. But yes, I've used Google Drive before and it's an easy-to-use application

I will stick to Google Drive, and possibly an SD card and Flash Drive aswell just to be sure.
