So, to be clear, Thowee, any lag at the mall is likely the result of a client side issue. Is that correct?
Whether or not this is the case, is there anything that could be done on the server side, or any changes that could be made to the building itself, that would help to alleviate lag for all players that visit the mall? Would the removal of lit lamps help?
FPS lag is always client side, so if you're ever having trouble moving - the server can't help you! We are open to suggestions to help improve the design to help client side lag - but the nature of a mall is a tricky one to make lag free!
It seems to me that the lag issue with the malls is not that there's too many shops, but that they're too close together. Having only a few chunks bear the load of say 8 stores at a time can be deadly for smaller computers.
Perhaps we can redesign the mall so its more spread out rather than vertical? This way other stores will not need to be rendered when not close to them and reducing lag for both client and server.
